Free version available in the official Zen Cart plugins section, but make sure you compare the versions as v2 is very superior to the free version.

Point of Sale (POS) module for Zen Cart was built to help you overcome the gap between online sales and sales made through other channels. If you have a physical store with customers walking in to make a purchase, this module is great for you. It can also be used to take orders by your staff over the phone.
This module is based on jQuery - please check if your site is using jQuery before installing the module. If you're already using jQuery, there's a chance this plugin might fail because of conflicts.
NOTE: this plugin is NOT encrypted and you can customize it to suit your needs. It's open source and is compatible with other Zen Cart plugins so the possibilities are endless.

The Point of Sale module allows you to add products to cart using a barcode scanner, by manually typing in the barcode or by typing in product's model number (or shortcode). Since it uses AJAX, it will be very fast and will help you process the order in no time.
Your customers can use the same account for both online purchases AND in-store purchases. This allows them to keep track of their entire order history in your shop, or earn Loyalty Rewards if you have any.

This is the most frequently asked question about ZX POS - what's the difference between this version and the free one?
There's a lot of differences, with ZX POS v2 being a highly improved version of its predecessor, v1. Some highlights would be:
- standalone fast checkout
- attribute support
- improved scanning options
- custom price per product
- search capability
ZX POS v2 supports adding products with attributes from the navigation section. If you want to scan a barcode or use a SKU with attributes, you will need Stock by Attributes, but it's not required because you can easily add items using the navigation section.
You can set a custom price for any of the products after adding it to cart. Once you add the item to cart, you can click the matching product's Edit icon and set any price you want, either lower or higher. Once the new price is set, it will be used throughout checkout and all calculations will take the new price in consideration. This change does not affect your live site so any customers shopping online will not see the custom price, but instead the standard price.
You don't need to worry your session would time out - once you login to ZX POS v2, your POS page will work indefinitely as long as you don't close the browser. You can also use the "Lock Screen" option to prevent unauthorized use of the POS page and unlock it with a password you had previously set.
You can put an order on hold and reload it later, add a new customer without leaving the POS page, view any customer's details and order history, login as a customer and change customer's password and you can redeem a coupon directly in the POS page.
When placing the order, you don't need to go through the entire checkout process - you just select the customer (or guest) and click Place Order. And that's it, you're done - you don't even leave the POS page.

A detailed installation manual is included with the purchased zip file.
The module is installed just as any other Zen Cart module. Make sure you rename YOUR_TEMPLATE to your template name and upload all files preserving the structure. Several core file are affected - make sure you carefully merge the changes. In case other files already exist in your template folder, merge it carefully. All changes are documented an can easily be merged.
